"Flint Pride on the Road"
Eighteen-year-old Tony Towns says he's proud to say
he's from Flint. 'I give back as much as I can. I performed the last play at
least 80 times at churches, schools and day cares. It's a big thing for me. I
love doing this and seeing someone smile. That right there says keep doing
it, you're helping people. That's my main purpose.' Towns practiced his play
on Jazz tenor saxophonist Lester Young in an empty classroom at the
University of Michigan-Flint for the upcoming national NAACP Academic,
Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics. Last year he finished first
of 350 contestants.
