"Second Chance"
'I was scheduled for surgery on my neck and they were
going through my neck and I was really afraid I wouldn't be able to sing
again. Singing has been everything to me,' said Del Engler, a volunteer
shrine circus clown and singer. He was disabled in a car accident and further
in a fall on a job as a machinist. Giving back with music and time with local
charities has been his passion. He recently recorded a CD to raise funds for
the Shrine Burn Centers. 'I think it goes back to my car accident. Somebody was
giving me a second chance. It wasn't my time to die,' Engler said of his
volunteerism.
