"Golf Teaches Character"
'Golf teaches you character, to make decisions and to
take responsibility for what you do. That's what's going to bring you through
your life. If you look around today, it's a problem people don't take
responsibility for their actions and have excuses for whatever they do wrong.
The more character you have, the less of those things you've got. It takes
everybody to help. Everybody has their little board in the building of life.
Some people have talents one way and others another, and some don't have any
but they can still help.' said Terry Gilmour, a retired Delphi worker and
volunteer starter with the Flint Jr. Golf Association, which he says donates
to character building and more than $10,000 in scholarships to graduating
student members each year.
