"Mental Health System in Ruins"
Psychiatrist Dr. Louis Marc Jeanny Girard (left) takes notes during a session with longtime patient Lamarre Brice, 42, in a triage tent set up in the courtyard at the Mars and Kline Psychiatric Hospital. Mr. Brice, diagnosed as delusional and schizophrenic, has been a patient of Dr. Girard's for three years and comes in regularly for anti-convulsive and anti psychotic medication. The main Hospital was damaged but still standing after the earthquake and patients have been coming to the tents for counseling and medications. None of the staff had been paid for five months following the quake.
