"A Year at War"
On March 29, 2010 the men and women of the US Army 87th Infantry Battalion, 1st Combat Brigade, 10th Mountain Division deployed from their base in upstate New York for a year-long mission to Kunduz Province in Northern Afghanistan. The soldiers would soon find themselves battling an elusive enemy that most would never see as well as the tedium and monotony that for most would define their year deployed. This is part of an ongoing project to document a year in their lives. *** Here Private Daniel Fields does sit-ups as he and his platoon finished packing for deployment the next day.
