"THE CHAIN GANG, POLITICS AND PUNISHMENT"
A recurring part of the inmates chores is to bury poor inhabitants of Phoenix in White Tanks, a potter’s field just outside the center of town. Today there are ten deceased that will be put into their final resting places. People without relatives that can take care of their funeral. A local Pastor reads a prayer while the inmates lower the coffin. One of the girls sings “Amazing Grace”.
