"THE CHAIN GANG, POLITICS AND PUNISHMENT"
One quickly notices that the inmates have extensive experience with the chains. To walk over uneven terrain and simultaneously keep track of the long chains without stumbling takes a lot of practice. A few miles from the prison the bus comes to a halt on a vast open field. The group disembarks as a unit and walks to their workstation.
