"THE BURDEN OF LEAD: WEST DALLAS FEELS IGNORED AFTER YEARS OF DESPAIR"
Luis Sepulveda has worked for several decades to clean up the lead smelter site in West Dallas and be an advocate for residents who were affected by exposure to high levels of lead. Over the decades, Mr. Sepulveda has collected lead soil samples and battery chips from all over West Dallas and kept them in plastic bags and containers. A picture of Mr. Sepulveda when he was a young boy growing up in West Dallas sits near the lead samples.
