Nover Sryadi, his friends and tracking dogs return from a hunting trip of wild pigs in the Aceh mountains near Lake Toba, Sumatra. Local villagers place snares around their farms to catch game for food or to catch wild pigs (pictured here), which eat their corn crop. The Muslim communities don’t eat the pigs, but sell them to local Chinese. The snares indiscriminately capture anything that walks by, including both tiger prey—and tigers.
