A boy plays soccer in a parking lot in the drought ravaged city of Huron. 46.2 percent of the population live below the poverty level. Once known for massive lettuce harvests the area's farmers are turning to more profitable and permanent crops like almonds and pistachios. There is far less work available now. Drought has ravaged towns in the western San Joaquin Valley. Huron has seen its population move on to other states and cities where there is more work.
