"Adrift after newtown"

Jackie Barden stares into the back yard where her son Daniel used to play on a swingset in Newtown, CT on May 23, 2013.  His toys, clothes, everything is exactly where he left them last year after the massacre.   Jackie is a school teacher and has not returned to work.  Neither has her husband.  There are good days and band ones.  Sometimes Jackie fantasizes that Daniel has just gone over to a friends house to play.  Pretending helps her summon the energy to return an email or make a meal.  All family members are in therapy.
