"Adrift after newtown"
After the Newtown school massacre, mourning parents enter into the lonely quiet in Newtown, CT. As calls for gun law reform falls from the national spotlight, the Bardens struggle to move on.
Mark and Jackie Barden hug their daughter Natalie, 11 before she boards the bus in Newtown, CT on May 23, 2013. Daniel Barden, their son, was among the school children killed in Newtown last December. The pair haven't returned to work since then but have encouraged their kids to return to regular school activities. For the parents, most everything they do reminds them of Daniel. Days are lived one at a time, hour by hour and filled with long gazes, spontaneous tears and numerous hugs. As a whole, The Barden family is finding the road to recovery a very long one.
