Shawnette carries her baby girl, Shalisiana, through the halls at Decatur Place apartments. Between trips to the laundry room, she was ironing clothes in preparation for church that morning. After leaving a bad marriage Shawnette faced a long struggle with housing. She was moving back and forth from Denver to Louisiana staying with family and friends. Eventually found herself and her children in the worst of places... homeless.
