While monitoring radio communication, Fisher helps platoon leader 1st Lt. Robert Munoz hang Christmas lights in the operations center at Camp Echo, about 100 miles south of Baghdad. As part of a weekly rotation, Ian's squad is serving as QRF, Quick Reaction Force, a team that must be ready to respond to any emergency on or off the camp, 24 hours a day, and has only 15 minutes from the first call to be out of the gate. The duty offers few comforts, but Munoz likes the center to be a gathering place for his troops - a home away from home.
