Pfc. Tyler Schell of 3rd Platoon Delta Co. of the 2/87 Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade 10th Mountain Division based at JSS Commanche walks during an evening patrol in search of an alleged IED location in the Tangi Valley of Wardak province. The soldiers of 3 Delta took the first two casualties of the Brigade's deployment in Wardak, an event that cooled the complaints that soldiers from other units expressed about the lack of actual combat in the area. Pfc. Schell would be wounded by an IED months later.
