"Loading the Truck"
Pigeon racers remove their birds from baskets, scan the microchips attached to the bird's leg, and load it into a custom-build truck at the Eastside Members Pigeon Racers Club in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. This unique truck was designed so one person can simultaneously release pigeons from 20 baskets, officially starting a race. More than 800 pigeons were registered and loaded onto the truck for this race, which saw entries from three different Detroit-area clubs.
