"Despite similarities to reality"
US forces based in Paktia Province, their Afghan security counterparts, and few members of the press participate in a change of command ceremony on FOB Salerno. Here, Colonel Valery C. Keaveny Jr., commander of the 4th Brigade Combat Team of the 101st Airborne Division, speaks to the great successes had by his predecessors and to the confidence he has in his Afghan partners. This time also marks the unveiling of a new motto to symbolize the relationship between US and Afghan forces amidst their struggle to maintain security: Where the Dari phrase, “Shohna ba Shohna,” translated Shoulder to Shoulder, once served, the phrase, Over the Shoulder would be taking its place as the transition of authority to Afghan forces is completed.
