"ASHES TO ASHES"
Bodies of victims of Mount Merapi eruptions rest amongst volcanic ash and debris in front of a house in Argomulyo village, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Merapi's eruption, said by authorities to be the largest since the 1870s, rendered hundreds of thousands homeless resulting in 350,000 people having to be evacuated from the affected area. However, many remained behind or returned to their homes while the eruptions were continuing because of concern for their livestock and property or simply because most of the inhabitants seem to believe that they will be given some sort of sign or warning by their esteemed mountain before it will actually explode.
