Michael Bester, 46, watches planes flying out of Cape Town International Airport while sitting in front of his "zozo hut," a sort of rough-hewn wooden shed usually used for storage in South Africa. Bester lives with his wife Kathy, 48, left, and their six children in a small squatter camp in the Cape Flats area of Cape Town. Bester has adult children from a previous marriage who will have nothing to do with him since he married Kathy. Bester attributes their estrangement to Kathy's ethnicity.
