It is believed that for each treated case of malaria documented in medical facilities, 4 to 5 cases are diagnosed and treated independent of qualified medical personnel. Accessible medical assistance and the availability of affordable medication are needed to accomplish Role Back Malaria's mission to facilitate the early diagnosis and effective treatment of malaria. Both the needed expertise in the field and the consistent availability of the correct medications are paramount to achieve this goal.
