With a fan as a headpost Tyrone Smith, 42, sleeps
inside a gutted house operated by Common Ground relief agency in the Lower
9th Ward in New Orleans a few days before the anniversary of Hurricane
Katrina. When Katrina came, Smith evacuated to Alabama. It was the first time
he had ever left the city. He went to Atlanta, where he had trouble finding
work. Smith stays in the house along with other men who are trying to work
and get back on their feet. |
