Civil Homeland Defense founder Chris Simcox waits in
the in the desert brush of Cochise County, Ariz., for signs of illegal border
crossers. President Bush recently announced a plan that would allow millions
of illegal workers to get temporary legal status along with many of the
benefits of citizenship. The plan is likely to be popular among many business
leaders who need foreigners to fill jobs that Americans have shunned. Critics
argue the plan offers amnesty to illegal immigrants and will only encourage
people to attempt to enter the United States illegally.
