Award of Excellence
"Sleepless"
Rikke Braderup sits at night and feeds her newborn son Vilfred. He is her first child, and after three weeks with almost no sleep she has few reserves left. She is one of a record number of mothers sitting sleepless at night. The summer months showed high pressure on maternity wards in Denmark after many years of declining birth rates, and a total of 16,200 children were born in the summer baby-boom.
