"Philip Seymour Hoffman"

Philip Seymour Hoffman poses for a tintype portrait. This was part of a series on raw and honest portraiture. I asked recognizable faces to sit for portraits and I chose to shoot them as wet plates for the one of a kind, raw nature of the medium and the unpredictability of the chemical outcome. The results were incredibly beautiful and sincere. In the age of photoshop, how we look at beauty has transitioned and in this case the tintype allow for honesty to be seen.
