"Devil in the Night"

A large male African Lion, Panthera leo, stalks a herd of Red Lechwe, Kobus leche, under the beam of a ruby spotlight that doesn't affect his behaviour. The primeval power and menace of the big cat moving through the inky night elicited distress calls from potential prey across the floodplain.
