"Stepping Towards Hope"
Suspended in a harness Kyle Pearson works out on the TheraStride at Craig Hospital. He remembers that earlier in his recovery, "I called that machine my nemesis. I'd take two steps and trip, take two steps and trip... I won't say that I'm friends with the treadmill, but we're not archenemies anymore." Kyle was closer to unassisted walking than many patients who go through therapy at Craig Hospital, but he also struggled to balance recovery with a demanding ongoing career in engineering consulting. Pearson, from the Dallas area, broke his back and multiple ribs in a Breckenridge ski fall.
