The confirmation at 14 years old is a big event in Norway and these children will be the next generation to leave the island. They are Mariel Karlsen, Monika Sanja Johnsen, Natalia Hansen, Jonas Jorgensen, Julianne Eide. As families decide they don't want to enter the fishing or whaling industry they must leave to find work or education.
