"The biggest challenge for me as principal has been attendance," Principal Darnell White says of his first year at Sam Houston High School. On a recent Friday morning, he stands outside a restaurant popular with students along W.W. White Road, urging students to get to school on time. White is working to get students to understand that, "if you are here every day and you are on time every day, you'll be able to accomplish whatever you want to accomplish," White says.
