Rinconada: Peru's New El Dorado
Workers climb a steep shale mountainside looking through the detritus of the tunnels hoping to find scraps of gold overlooked by the miners. The commodities boom of Latin America and the high prices they command assure that the workers and environment of Rinconada will continue to be abused in the years to come.
