Sgt 1st Class Chet Millard from RCP 5 of the 9-51 Engineer Company, Sappers from the 276th Engineer Battalion serving with the Army National Guard out of Rhinelander, WI, US Army, lays on a stretcher awaiting medical evacuation helicopters after he was injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack on the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle (MRAP) he was traveling in, in the Tangi Valley, Wardak Province, Afghanistan, on September 8, 2009. Three US soldiers were injured in the IED attack.
