Linda (40) in her bedroom right after 'shooting up'
Meth and getting high. It took her a few minutes to get back to a point she
could speak. She was quite nervous as her 14 year old son Derek was in the
house. Derek knows his mother is addicted to Meth, but does not know she uses
the needle. Derek also tried Meth but despises the fact his mother is a heavy
user of Meth and other drugs. Derek wants to be a lawyer and jail all his
family members which are using Meth, including his mother. The plaque on the
wall reads : 'God could not be everywhere so he created 'Mothers'..' She has
been up for four days without sleeping at this point. Meth users can stay
awake for many days at a time, and sometimes weeks. Linda told us, that her
record is 28 days without sleepingƒ Linda is on the run from the police, and
is facing a three year sentence. She has been more than 15 times in jail
since she started using Meth, and three of her four children are in foster
care (She was arrested recently after someone tipped off the police on her
whereabouts, and will be in prison for three years. She told us she will not
run when the police find her, because being in jail is the only way for her
to stop taking drugs..)
