"So Much Potential"
'There's so much potential that I've seen for so long
(in Flint). If I want change to happen, I can't complain and count on
somebody else to do it. I want to be able to walk my talk. I think when we
focus on more than what it is I need just for me, then we have a community
that grows and heals. I want to be part of that.' said Jessica J. Lanave.
Lanave is reflected in the door of the conference room of the Greater Flint
Health coalition as she presents a grant proposal for substance abuse public
service announcements. She says she makes it a priority to balance faith,
family and work and to find time to volunteer in the Flint community. She
currently sits on four boards and recently finished coordinating the Holiday
Wish List to help agencies' clients in need for the second year.
