"Lessoning Lonliness"
Woody Skaff (center), 87, a retired Flint
businessman, volunteers four days a week, getting First Presbyterian Church
members who are ill or homebound out to meet others in similar situations to
help lessen their loneliness. 'The real joy in life is loving, helping,
serving other people. That may be my purpose. That's what I get the biggest
kick out of, instead of buying a big boat and lots of toys. That doesn't do
anything for me,' he said.
