the Galata neighborhood of Istanbul. Two simultaneous alleged car bombs
exploded at approximately 9:30 local time in Turkey, killing approximately
23 people, and injuring over one hundred others.
Two car bombings within the month of
November rattle Istanbul. A car bomb exploded in front of the Neve Shalome
Synagogue in the Galata neighborhood of Istanbul. Two simultaneous alleged
car bombs exploded at around 9:30 local time in Turkey, killing approximately
16 people and injuring over 125 others. Twenty-seven victims were killed
in dual car bombings within minutes of each other, at the British Consulate
and at HSBC Bank in downtown Istanbul. Al Qaeda has allegedly claimed the
attacks, which also injured more than 400 people, and Foreign Minister Gul
has announced that arrests have been made in Turkey.
