"A Life Apart: The Toll of Obesity"
After barely getting out of the Palo Alto College pool, Hector Garcia Jr. found the pool at the Westside Family YMCA more accessible for him to walk laps in May 2011. The YMCA became Hector's second home for the next year, as he walked laps, shot baskets and eventually lifted weights."They're all really supportive and no one judges you there. They were all rooting for me," Garcia said about the friends he made there.
