"Losing Victoria"

Knowing this would be her last year of school, Mountain View awarded her a diploma more than a year early. The Campbell family had returned to Utah after living abroad for several years so that their children could see and learn about the world. Victoria spoke several languages and was ahead of her grade level before the disease took hold. "We wanted to maximize [her] potential," Victoria's father Aaron said of the way they had raised their daughter. "We thought that would be done by going to get a degree in something and being a wonderful mother and serving peopleÉ We thought that she'd have another 60 or 70 years to benefit the lives of the people around her."
