"HOMOPHOBIA IN RUSSIA"
With candles and posters of past and present victims of homophobic violence, LGBT-activist wants to pay respect to their heroes and illustrate the historical oppression to their minority in Russia.
Homosexuality was decriminalised in the first years of the Soviet Union, but in 1933 Josef Stalin prohibited all homosexual activities and so it remained illegal until 1993. With the Russian Orthodox Church at the new frontline, the wind now seems to change against Russia’s LGBT-people once again.
