Almost three thousand overpasses and viaducts mark the landscape of the twenty-million city of Sao Paulo. A few years ago, a retired professional boxer Nilson Garrido came up with an idea to convert those spaces into public gyms, open to people from the poorest areas of the city. Currently he runs three gyms in the district Zona Leste. Viaduto Glicerio is one of them. On the improvised ring, amateur boxers can try their skills in friendly games, which attract casual audience from the neighborhood.
