"WHERE STEEL MEETS SKY"
The mesh screen of the "cocoon" covers the last few floors, protecting the men from the fall hazard off the side of the building. Many of the ironworkers complain that the cocoon diminishes their value as a specialized and skilled trade. For many of them it is in large part the danger that defines what they do. During the transition from floor to floor the cocoon has to be repaired, detached and reattached. |
