On eviction day, Oct 14, 2011, NYC warns of eviction at 6am. Large amount of young people gathered at Zuccotti Park (Liberty Square) to fight possible eviction. After seeing thousands turn out, the city and owners of the park, Brookfield Properties, backed down. Zuccotti Park became a symbolic base for the movement. |
