"THE KAZAKH EAGLE HUNTERS"

A golden eagle sits in a ger (a traditional tented home) with a hood on to keep the bird calm. The hood is always kept over the eagle’s eyes and only taken off when it’s time to hunt or eat.In the remote region, which borders Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China live the last remaining Eagle hunters in the world. For centuries these people have hunted foxes and other small animals with their Golden Eagles. These Eagle live with them and in the winter months they are a very important way the hunters get their food and the fur which they use to make their clothes. Often in temperatures below - 40 they out hunting with the birds.
