Thirty-two bats, four songbirds and one raptor represent the average yearly toll for each wind turbine on a Pennsylvania wind farm. As wind energy grows in popularity, more birds and bats will be lost each year unless the farms are well-placed and not run during peak migratory and feeding periods.
