"I saw a big flash to my right, a big fire ball, a lot of smoke, and I couldn't see nothing, all I could hear was my soldiers screaming. So, I tried to get up out of my seat and all I remember is I couldn't move my leg. I got on my radio and said, 'hey i need some help. I'm hurt. I can't move.' I remember taking off my helmet and throwing it at the windshield and just sitting there thinking, oh my gosh. And then I blacked out," said Barnes.
