With sunny weather year-round and a training facility in Chula Vista, Southern California is host to many U.S. Olympic hopefuls set to compete in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The following are a collection of those local competitors.

NEWHALL, CA - JULY 14, 2008- Kimberly Rhode, a three-time Olympian, is photographed at the Oak Tree Gun Club in Newhall, July 14, 2008. Rhode, attending her fourth Olympics this summer in Beijing, will be competing in women's international skeet. In the previous three Olympics, Rhode competed in double's trap, winning Gold Medals in '04 and '06 and a Bronze Medal in 2000.
