Pepperdine's Jason Walberg, #12, gouges the eyes of Brigham Young University's Jonathan Tavernari, #45, during the first half of the game. No foul was called on the play. Although Tavernari missed the basket immediately following the eye gouge, he was not injured. Later in the game, he scored back-to-back three-pointers, helping BYU win the game 86-67. Tavernari finished the game with 10 points.
