For tens of thousands of immigrants, the American
dream became more difficult in 2006. As the heated national debate on
immigration persists, the increased attention to homeland security has
tightened the U.S. border. Migrants looking for a way out of the economic
depression in their own countries risk injury on the dangerous trip north.
The lure is so strong that many will try again and again after failing.
Hernan Enriquez, 25, of Honduras left home eight days ago in search of a
better life in the U.S. He is traveling alone on top of the train cars.
