Summary:
Markers define the route of the pipeline between
chad and cameroon. The pipe now rests hidden underground, but the human costs
of the pipeline are plainly visable along the 1050 km route. Amnesty
International has accused both governments and the private consortium of
Human Rights Abuses. ExxonMobil leads a consortium of oil companies that have
developed the Doba oil fields in the southern region of Chad. Other members
of the consortium include Chevron Corporation (25 percent) and Petronas of
Malaysia (35 percent).
