The severed head of a gang member lies near a desk at
the scene of a massacre at a youth correctional facility in San Jose Pinula,
Guatemala September 19, 2005. Officials reported 12 dead and 11 injured after
four members of the MS street gang, armed with assault rifles entered the
facility and executed members of the rival Mara 18. Guards detained three of
the intruders, who police say are minors.
