University students meet resistance from police as
they carry the coffin of Maxime Deselmour toward
the palace of Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide. Deselmour's death had
become the catalyst for anti-Aristide protests when he was killed during a
protest on January 7, 2004. Police fired live ammunition and tear gas during
the march.
