"Stormy Game"
Young Somalis play soccer in Barron as a July thunderstorm
approaches. Local and immigrant youths at Barron
High have teamed up to win the Wisconsin regional high school tournament
during the past two years, and help ease the racial tension that had arisen
in Barron, a city whose population of more than 3,000 was almost entirely
white a decade ago. Now Somali's comprise 12 percent of the city's
population.
